About Schoonover Plumbing & Heating

Installing Trust Since 1947. Schoonover Plumbing & Heating is a family business, now owned and operated by its third generation, Eric Schoonover and George Schoonover III. From offices in Canton and Williamsport, our team of more than 30 employees — who live in the four counties we serve — installs and services heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems for homes, businesses and institutions across Northern Pennsylvania.

Our story

George Schoonover Sr. founded the company in 1947 as Canton Plumbing, Heating, and Farm Supply Company. After a fire on Sullivan Street, the business moved into its new Main Street showroom in 1956 — still our home office today. Through the 1960s Schoonover built schools and hospitals across the region, and since the mid-1970s we have been a regional leader in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing, heating and electrical work. In 2018 we opened our Williamsport showroom to serve Lycoming County. Read our full history.
